Where… Where is she..?

Everything was perfectly simple and normal. The sun was just above the western horizon, displaying a wide range of warm colors through the sky as a last chance to remain seen. The town seemed to be dotted with people returning to their families and homes. Honestly, it was so normal that it made the author want to puke.
It wouldn’t last, of course. Anything normal tends not to.
A small figure stood out in the dying light. The townspeople didn’t take any notice-travelers were always passing through, especially at this time of day. This one was no different. Except, perhaps for the fact of the gleam in her dark eyes.
Lyza was tired, and frustrated that her target evaded her once again. Exorcists…   She shook her head and gazed at the town. It’s not home, but it’ll have to do.  Sighing, she trudged along the road and checked into an inn at the north end of the town.
